Sumika Milk Candy launches the Little Fishermen program in An Giang province with Anh Vien
With the desire to join hands for a Vietnam without drowning children, Sumika Milk Candy - a member of Bibica Joint Stock Company, organized a meaningful community program called "Little Swimmer", with the participation of Anh Vien - a former excellent swimmer who won dozens of SEA Games gold medals. The program aims to equip children with swimming knowledge and skills, while also contributing to reducing the danger of drowning and bringing positive changes on the journey to build a generation of young Vietnamese people who are safe, healthy, and confident in the water environment.
The program officially launched in Long Xuyen city, An Giang province in June 2024. With the passion and dedication of Anh Vien and a team of professional swimming coaches, nearly 400 children aged 7-14 years old were equipped with basic swimming knowledge and skills such as treading water, swimming the breaststroke and handling emergency situations in the water environment. These swimming lessons not only bring joy but also help children better understand the importance of swimming skills in preventing drowning accidents. When they accidentally fall into the water, they know how to kick to breathe water or lie on their backs on the water surface to wait for rescue.
With all her love and passion for swimming, Anh Vien always aspires to inspire children to discover and love this sport. "Learning to swim is easy, learn with Anh Vien!", she always encourages children with a bright smile as a way to encourage them to realize that learning to swim is simple, fun and very practical. For Anh Vien, swimming is an extremely important life and survival skill for children to protect themselves when participating in underwater activities, avoiding tragic drowning accidents that may occur. At the same time, this is also an activity to train their physical and mental health, helping children happily enjoy magical moments when playing in the water, they may even become little swimmers in the future.
In recent days, the program has received excitement and enthusiasm from children when learning to swim and positive feedback from parents. They shared that their children are increasingly more confident when facing water, children who used to be shy and timid have now become bold and ready to get into the water. It can be seen that the program has partly trained the children's inner strength to overcome their fear and face incidents in the water environment more positively, thereby helping them firmly step on the path to the future.
